Bug 1582

Summary: Edit doesn't always respond to the ALT Keys
Product: Edit Reporter: Christian Blackburn <MyPurchases@Yahoo.com>
Component: coreAssignee: edit@freedos.org <edit@freedos.org>
Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Version: 0.6
Hardware: PC
OS: FreeDOS

Description:   Opened: 2003-02-04 03:22
Problem:
Sometimes the ALT keys work inside of Edit and sometimes they do not. I am
using Bochs to emulate DOS, but this problem is never observable when I'm using
Microsoft's Edit.

Repro:
(On FreeDos 8.1 w/ Edit 0.6 installed/updated)
1. Start Edit
2. Press Alt+F
3. Press N
4. Press Alt+F

Result:
After Step#2:
The file menu appears as expected.

After Step#4:
The file menu no longer appears even though I'm pressing the same keys.

Expected:
The keyboard shortcuts should work 100% of the time unless the open dialog or
some other dialog is currently on top.

Thanks for the Wonderful Edit Program (no sarcasm intended),
Christian Blackburn

Assigning to FreeDOS_1.0 milestone. -jh

Upgrading the severity from 'normal' to 'major'. If it's on the "1.0 to-do
list", then it should be more important than a 'normal' severity. -jh

Although this was not explicitly fixed, it has gone away
during the bigger keyboard driver rework for EDIT 0.6b/c/d.
So I cannot reproduce the problem anymore. Bug resolved.
